Everything you never knew you wanted to know about us

I adopted Sal almost eight years ago. I can barely remember my life before he entered it. We spent 24/7 365 together for multiple years during the pandemic. Then I got cancer and it kept on going. This cat is not just a cat, or a roommate, or a dependent. He's my bestie, my soul mate, and my hero. Here is my interview with both of us.

Favorite foods?
Sal: shrimp. rotisserie chicken. bread, specifically pizza crust.

Wendy: garlic. mushrooms, specifically morel and chanterelle. pickled anything. Jimboy's taco burgers.

What do you do for fun?
Sal: eat cobwebs like a complete lunatic. sit in front of the back door and cry. bite people.

Wendy: play video games. binge tv. sometimes I feel like a lazy piece of shit so I go for a run or to a fitness class. I love Pilates and boxing.

Favorite TV shows?
Sal: Succession. Game of Thrones. Late night binges of House Hunters.

Wendy: Same. Along with Veep and Seinfeld which are my all-time favorite comedies (love you JLD). I grew up on Cheers, Golden Girls, Murphy Brown. High school/college years were all about The X-Files. Recent life-changing favorite show is Severance.

Favorite books?
Sal: Chicken Soup for the Soul (just the chicken part). Any book that's open and can be laid upon, especially if it interrupts someone's reading.

Wendy: The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton has been my favorite novel for a long time. I love fantasy fiction and recently fell in love with NK Jemison's The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms. Magical realism is also my jam, particularly Gabriel Garcia Marquez's novels. I'm also a Shakespeare nerd. Oh, and Tom Stoppard, may he rest in piece, wrote many of my favorite plays. For poetry, I love Dean Young and Yusef Komunyakaa.
